Frequently Asked Questions

Q. When will water be available in our area?
A. If a project is ongoing, we can provide an estimated time. If the county has no plans for water in a specific area, then citizens in that area can submit a petition to the Utility Operations Board.

Q. Is the county responsible for road repair?
A. No. This is done by the North Carolina Department Of Transportation (NCDOT) if a state road.

Q. Can an engineer come out and help me with a personal project?
A. No. The engineer works for the Brunswick County on county projects. He cannot provide services for private projects.

Q. Can engineering review my subdivision plans if I bring them in?
A. Plans need to go through the Planning Department. That department then will schedule them for the monthly Technical Review Meeting and forward a set of plans to Engineering to review before the meeting.
