Childrens Protective Services

Children's Protective Services provides intervention to children under the age of 18 who are neglected and/or physically, mentally, or sexually abused by their parents or caretaker. (Note: the appropriate law enforcement office intervenes when the perpetrator of neglect or abuse is a non-caretaker.)

Contact Children Services intake worker.

Concerns and reports about possible abuse or neglect of a child or elderly or disabled adult must be made in person or by phone. Reports can be made in person at Social Services (Building B at the County Complex) during business hours. Reports can also be made by phone, by calling (910) 253-2114 or (910) 253-2185 during business hours (leave a message if no one answers), or by calling 911 and asking for the on-call social worker after hours or on weekends and holidays. Reports should NOT be made by email.
