Q. What is the policy concerning bad weather?
A. If it is absolutely certain that the fields will not be fit to play by game time, the Parks & Recreation staff will notify all coaches who have games scheduled for that night. Therefore, it will be the coaches' responsibility to contact his/her players.
If the Parks & Recreation maintenance staff believes that the fields will be playable by game time, it is the team's responsibility to be present at the field at game time. By game time, the fields may or may not be playable. When it is questionable, the umpires will decide at game time whether the fields are playable. If the umpires decide the fields are playable, any team not present will be given a forfeit.
The Parks & Recreation maintenance staff will do everything possible to prepare the fields. The Park Supervisors will make the final decision as to the condition of the playing fields. Sometimes they will not know until later in the afternoon. The best advice is: If you do not hear anything, show up at the game.
