May W. Moore currently is the representative for District 3. Mrs. Moore is a retired teacher with 25 years spent in the middle schools of Brunswick County teaching math and language. In 1994, she was "Teacher Of The Year" for Brunswick County. She earned a Bachelor Of Arts in History at Duke University, Phi Beta Kappa, and a Masters in Education at University Of North Carolina At Chapel Hill. Jimmy Moore, a retired commercial fisherman, is her husband. Three grown children complete their family.

Offices Held:

• Served as Mayor of Yaupon Beach for 2 terms from 1988 to 1996. Also, served on the Town Council for 3-1/2 terms from 1983 to 1996.
• Served on the Brunswick County School Board form 1970 to 1975.
• Serving a four-year term from 12-2000 to 12-2004, as a Brunswick County Commissioner.
• Serves as the Board's representative on the following Boards and Committees, appointed by the Brunswick County Board Of Commissioners:
